POP UP – Moturoa / Rabbit Island Sunday 28 September

Type: Peer Group Paddle
Minimum Ability/Grade: Sea Kayak - Orange

  Jo Kay 0211169877 jokaypharmacist@gmail.com
Paddle around Moturoa / Rabbit Island, clockwise, starting from Grossi Point in Mapua.
Follow the Mapua channel out to the sea and paddle along the foreshore of Moturoa, returning on the inland side next to Bells and Rough Island.
We will have the tide pushing us in through the home run channels.
High Tide is 1.30 pm 3.6 m.
Forecast: Sunny with light winds of 3 kt, 0.2m swell.
This paddle has a technical skill of yellow but is graded orange due to the longer length of approximately 20 km.
This would be a good chance for yellow paddlers who would like to test their ability to manage longer paddles in a safe environment.
