AGM – 18 September

The AGM will be held at the Nelson Bowling Club rooms on Wednesday evening, the 18th September. The meeting will be followed by a dinner, awards, Guest Speaker and photo competition. We are making some alterations to the constitution to make sure it is relevant and meeting legal requirements which will require approval from club members. A summary and detailed changes will be available for you to study beforehand. The dinner will be provided at a cost of $7 per head and will include some pre meal nibbles, main and dessert courses, juice, tea and coffee. BYO alcoholic refreshments.
Awards are for Services to the club, Most Improved Beginner, the Golden Boot award for the best Howler story, The categories for the photo competition are Land/sea scape, People/Character, Hut/Camp life and Humour. Photos need to have been taken during a kayak trip in the last 12 months and should be printed on photo paper, standard size (6x4 or there abouts)

West Coast Lakes – Labour Weekend – 25 – 28 October

Camp Friday night at Okarito, Saturday Explore the Lagoon on the incoming spring tide and stay at Lake Windemere Hut, or camp, at the Northern end of the Lagoon. The Kotuku (White Herons) will be nesting and there is a possibility of seeing Kiwis
Paddle Lake Windemere and explore the surrounding coast. Sunday night travel north to stay at the camp site at Lake Mahinapua, just south of Hokitika, paddle on Monday then return home in the afternoon. Approximately 6 hours travel to Okarito.
